Barrel Horses

10 Yr. Sr. Gelding

 About 15’0 Hands.  

Finished & Seasoned Barrel Horse. Is a consistent 1D/2D horse.  He is seasoned and ready to go.  Has run at large and small jackpots, large and small arenas – has also been to a handful of rodeos.  He has no bad habits, is good in the gate, is honest in his run and makes pretty much the same pattern every time.  He is great to shoe, clip, bathe, goes on the walker, blankets, travels great, stands at the trailer, you can pony him or pony another off of him, not a fighter, super sweet disposition, great around mares or geldings.  Has NEVER bucked or acted bad even if he’s been off for months or in cold weather.  Nice straight, clean legs. Runs mid 17’s on a standard pattern – but I believe has potential to be quicker.  He has a long stride and runs free to first and has a roll back style.  Then you just stay up and push him right into your turns on 2nd and 3rd and leave him alone.  Real easy to ride.  No need for whips or spurs.  Does not need a lot of tuning or schooling, I usually just long trot, pony or do big slow circle work around my barrels. Would be great for experienced youth, High School, College or above.  He is a super nice gelding and needs to go to a great home. Had 2 months off while we rodeoed in August and Sept so the Graham D&G was his first couple runs back and he was right up in the 2D against some really tough TX horses. He’s not yet in tip top shape again. Some recent results for 2011. March 30, Alvarado – 2nd in 1D with 16.05 – indoor. April 5th, Stephenville – 1st in 1D with over 50 girls with a 15.4 – indoor – runs low to mid 15’s very consistently there. June 17th, Rapid City, SD Friday Night Lights – 3rd in 1D with over 95 girls – outdoor pen. July 3rd, Interior, SD SDRA Rodeo – one out of money by .01 with over 60 girls - outdoor pen. July 16th, Rapid City, SD Barrel Bash – just out of 2D money with 17.8 on standard indoor. July 17th, Rapid City, SD Barrel Bash – 10th in 1D with a 17.776 (won with 17.404) indoor standard. July 24th, Red, White & Run Futurity/4D, Spearfish, SD – 1st in 2D with 14.2 – 13.6 won it (ran in 2D on Saturday also) – little indoor. August 1st, Rapid City, SD Friday Night Lights – 1st 1D with over 95 girls – outdoor pen. October 17th, Graham, TX D&G – 5th in 2D with 16.2 (15.67 won it); was in 2D as well on Saturday with 16.4 (15.6 won) – indoor.

(Does have old scar on left front that has never caused issues). (Do inject his hocks once a year and have done his SI’s this year.  I’ve found if he isn’t firing or running as hard as he can the SI injection fixes that. Like all barrel horses that turn hard and try every time, he does require some maintenance).
